Weekly Photo Challenge: Lunchtime
Since I have a very basic phone, these had to be taken with my good camera, not the phone camera. I am currently in Austin, Texas visiting my daughter and son-in-law, and this is what we had for lunch.
It is a beautiful warm and sunny day in Austin, so we ate outside.

Just to be consistent, I had to also catch my son in law with a silly expression as he ate his pad thai. Seriously, I wasn’t trying for that. It just turned out that way. The sun was too bright to check my photos in the camera, so I had to make do with what I had.
We’re having a very good time here, and there will be better pictures and more stories coming.
More good news – my husband Joel and his mother have made it to Portland Maine. They will be spending the rest of the weekend resting up, and next week getting her settled in her new place.

This looks like a lunch I would have enjoyed! Asian cuisine and outside – a great combination!
Thank you
I see from your blog you have been in Japan and had some great Asian food. Good for you!
Yes! I lived there for a little while. Hope to move back there someday

I love salads. It is my staple everyday but no chicken, please. hahaha

OK then. Tofu? Or those yummy garbanzo beans like you have in the salad on your blog? That’s the nice thing about salads. They are so versatile and you can make something good out of such a variety of ingredients.
My mom lives in Kennebunk, Maine and loves it! Where is your mom’s new place?
She’s going to be in an independent living place in Portland not far from downtown and the water.
They have a fantastic quality of life in Maine, with excellent hospitals, and dental hygienists are independent and can clean teeth, take X-rays, and do minimum work within their own offices without a dentist. It’s very progressive up there! My mom lives in an over 55 community and has the closest girlfriends ever that are together almost everyday and do things with and for each other. You can’t beat that type of socializing support system and health system up there. I think she will love it!
Excellent! I’m glad to hear that. It’s also the only place that makes sense since she has quite a lot of family in the area.

That looks delicious. I’d been to Austin only once. Time for a revisit and explore this Amazing City.
Yes, there is lots to do there, and lots of interesting food!
