We hadn’t been walking in the forest for a while so we wanted to go back. It’s summer now, drier and windier. I was surprised at the number of flowers we saw! There seemed to be a lot more than before.
The last photo of the banana flower is unusual. Most banana flowers are huge. These plants were big but the flowers were tiny, only a few inches long.
This is my first time using a slide show gallery and I think I like it. You don’t have to scroll around to see all the photos. If you click on the gallery, controls will come up which allow you to click through at your own pace.

Lovely flowers,I like the slide show format, unfortunately in the new media format I couldn’t get it to work. I used it a lot in the old way of up loading…Ah the joys of change, keeps us on our toes…

Thanks 🙂 That’s the first time I used it and I like it. I uploaded all the photos, selected them all, and then if I remember there was something about creating a gallery and then choosing the slideshow format. I know what you mean though. Something is always changing.

lovely images – i’m glad that you stop to inspect what most people pass by. they’re all beautiful. the pretty variegated leaf is a dieffenbachia. the sap is poisonous (makes the tongue sweel if you should put it in your mouth!), but the plant makes a really easy-to care for shade plant.

Dieffenbachia! that’s it! Thank you, I knew I’d seen it but couldn’t remember the name. My daughter worked in a nursery and trimmed all the dieffenbachias one day without gloves. It wasn’t good. This one is huge, maybe 5 ft tall but it’s pretty buried in a lot of other plant growth. I might try to get to it one day and see if there are any youngsters I can bring home.
