Weekly Photo Challenge: Up
Were were riding our bikes yesterday afternoon and saw this tree. If you come by this tree you will look up. It’s because of all the noise coming from there. It’s full of parrots, and they have a lot to say! All those spots silhouetted against the sky are green parrots. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many together in one place, or heard such a racket coming from a tree.

We had a port stop in Puerto Rico one time and saw a tree full of green parrots like that. We also saw one in the midst of a flock of pigeons begging for food.

They are fun to see! We had them in Florida too, but I’ve never seen that many altogether before.

Kris..it’s a sign that the rainy season will start soon. For 3 days now, I’ve been raking under a tree in our yard listening to their chatter. But, I can’t spot a single parrot. They blend in so well with the leaves. Any day now the rains will start. I wonder where they go in the dry season?

I got lucky here because they were in a tree with no leaves. You’re right, I don’t remember seeing them in the dry season. If the rains wants to start again now, that’s fine with me!
