Bloggers United in Panama!

I’ve met a lot of internet friends in person over the years. Since I started this blog, I’ve met people who found me here. But, today is the first time I’ve met someone I also read on a regular basis.

We’ve been following each other for months! She and her husband went through a very similar process of visiting, making the decision, doing a major rehab on the house, selling the house, dealing with the “stuff”, wrapping up business, etc. I can certainly understand what they were going through since we did it all just months before them. Now they are finally here, and today it worked out that we could get together.

So, hello Holly and Scott! Welcome to Panama, and we’re both so happy we got to meet you both in person. I have a feeling there will be lots more fun times to come.

It’s interesting. People are who they are in their words. I have been surprised by what people looked like, especially in the past before sharing photos was common. But, I have never been surprised by who someone was. I was not surprised today either. Holly and Chris are fun, friendly, thoughtful, easy to be with, and a real pleasure. We talked and laughed and talked until we made them late for their next appointment! 😀

Double check your post, Kris. Is Holly’s husband’s name Chris or Scott or is he going incognito for a while, since she is making up some names as she goes along to protect the innocent lol I am just so glad to see that the two of you met so quickly! Fun!

Oh sheesh, thank you, good catch! I shouldn’t write late at night.
Innocent? LOL Nope, not me, guilty of all of it and plan to do as much more as possible 😀 And, one day we will be meeting YOU 🙂

A blogger was about the first person we met in Boquete 2+ years ago. Unfortunately she has since left, but we still keep in touch. What an awesome woman and a tremendous help to two newbie gringos. I’ve also met Not a Third World Wife – who got too busy with Panamanian life to keep posting. I definitely want to meet you and Holly. Holly and I have been joined at the virtual hip as we were doing the same things and the same time getting ready for our move. And you, a fellow Floridian, lived only about 3 hours from us. We’d love to me you and yours in David or Boquete. After we get settled, maybe even swing over to “a girl, a guy and dos gatos”.

We’re definitely getting together after you get settled and recovered from the trip! I want to explore the Azuero Peninsula, so maybe a blogger’s field trip is in order. I want to see what the area is like, and I definitely want to meet the gatos and their padres.

I totally agree! Bloggers have been helpful in our quest to find a better, more relaxed lifestyle. Without them posting their trials and tribulations, I don’t know if I would be able to make the decision to move to another. I hope our schedules will jive for a chance to get together in July.

Oh yes, it is so much easier for us these days with all the internet communication – bloggers, discussion forums, etc. There were people who talked with us before we moved too, and a couple even put me up the first week and helped me get situated.
We’ll be here in July until the 27th, so if you’re here before then we’d love to get together.

Yes, our first night in David is the 26th! (although it might be later in the day on the 26th when we get there) Are you still in David on the 27th?

Oh my, we take a bus to Panama City on the 27th, but at no particular time. Maybe we could have breakfast or brunch or something. I’ll email you.
