Sometimes you’ve got it, and sometimes you don’t

Once in a while I just don’t have it and I don’t feel like writing. We just returned from a number of adventures and I have stories and photos piled up, and I have other ideas rattling around in my head but I just don’t seem to be sitting down at my desk.

I always seem to need catch up time when I return home. We may be living in paradise but someone still has to restock the kitchen, wash the clothes, sweep the bugs out of the corners, and explain to the spiders why it’s time for them to move out again. Rainy season has returned and the yard is growing and needs some tending.

So, I’ve been getting chores done, spending time with neglected friends, cruising around on my bike, relaxing a bit at home, puttering in the yard, and generally enjoying some down time. We’ve been spending the evenings watching the latest season of Scandal on Netflix. Wow, what a well done and engaging show!

But, I will get it together one of these days. I have photos from our time in Casco Viejo in Panama City, our second day in Bocas del Toro (who would have thought one side of the island is so different from the other!), and our couple days at the Rambala Jungle Lodge. Of course, there are interesting things going on around here too.

I enjoy writing and sharing photos on my blog, but I also don’t want it to feel like an obligation so i figure if I’m not feeling it, it will get set aside until I do. But, I don’t want to wait until things are no longer fresh in my mind so I will get with it soon.

To close though, I’ll leave you with a feel good story. I wanted to ride my bike to the south part of town today but the Pan-American highway was all jammed up. One east bound lane was closed because workmen were working on the overpass above, and this made it hard to find a break in traffic. There always seems to be a policeman below when things are going on above. Today he saw me waiting to cross, and stepped out on to the highway to stop traffic for me. I know it’s his job to be helpful but it still made me feel very cared for.

It’s always a Pleasure to hear from Kris. I’ve been busy too, after 2 or 3 years of above average temps & Dry, we are in a cool down 10-15* cooler and Wet. I’ve got to get crops planted or the growing season will pass for some crops. The grass is growing Krazy and the horses can only eat so much. Hay should be prolific unless the rain ruins the Harvest. Until Then

  2. I just blitzed through season 3 of Scandal 2 days ago! Holy Guacamole!!! LOVE that dang series! I hear there’s another one coming from that same production group called “How to get away with murder” and after seeing the YouTube trailer I KNOW I’ll get sucked into watching that one, too!
I’m in total agreement with you this, too: Spring is a busy time of year and blogging takes a backseat to gardening or just enjoying the great outdoors.
Glad you’ve had some great adventures of late!

    • We love it too! It’s so well written, and acted, and filmed, everything. Things are in such a convoluted mess at the moment I can’t wait for this evening to see what’s going to happen next.
Thanks 🙂 Yes, I hear the outdoors calling me again today

  3. Oh, Kris! I hear you! We are in our last week in Ecuador. I have thousands of pictures, as well as stories. I’ve neglected my blog for a month, mainly because I’m using a tablet instead of my Macbook. All I want to do when we get home is relax and hug my kitties. Plus, we’re getting a puppy when we return. It’s going to be difficult getting back into my routine. Don’t worry! Relax and enjoy your time at home. We’ll be waiting for you when you are ready!

    • But, you are posting a lot of great updates and photos on Facebook! I know what you mean about tablets. The iPad is working out well and sure is easier for travel, but some things are harder to do and when you’d rather be out experiencing things, it get put aside for later, whenever that may be.

It happens to the best of bloggers. I have end of the year tales to tell as well. How much I have changed, who was responsible for that changes, good and bad, etc. I’m glad you are having so much fun! That’s what’s important. Cheers! Ps. Love scandal. Thanks for no spoilers.

    • You also post Facebook updates though, so I know you have a lot of things going on, and good things. And no, can’t post Scandal spoilers! You’ve got to tough it out like I am and wait to find out what is going to happen. 😀

I know just how you feel especially after a trip. I write dozens of reviews for TripAdvisor. I think I am 3/4 of the way finished from my last vacation (I have been home two weeks now). Plus, my job for the group I went with is to create and email spreadsheet of all the wineries we visited (I did this when we were in Napa last year), the wines we tried and tasted, our ratings and comments. I just finished that last night (I volunteered, since I along with my friends husband, are the writers and researchers of the bunch…but he has a life haha). Now onto my blog! Oy vey! We will all wait patiently for your post and pics!

    • You are doing very well then with all your writing! Especially now, when you are in the final stages of wrapping things up there. I thought you were in CA recently, caught my attention because one of my daughters lives in Santa Rosa. She worked for a winery in the past which was great because she could go to any other winery in the area 😀
