We quite enjoy your blog about living in Panama, it is very interesting and informative. Would it be possible to interview you to further share some of your tips and feature some of your first hand experience as an Expat and your interview will be published on our Expat Interview section as a guide for our expat readers. The questions are mainly about the day to day lifestyle of an expat. If it would be possible, could you also send some photographs that we can use?

Hi Isabel and thanks for your comment. I cannot say however if you will like Panama, and the area you mention is very Panamanian with few expats. As for a restaurant, many started by expats open and fail. It is not easy, and there are also many rules and laws that you must follow for yourself, employees, and your business. Be sure you check out the area in person and do your homework carefully.

Yes, absolutely, feel free. I shouldn’t get in such a snit about copyrights, but I find it very annoying when someone uses my photo and doesn’t give me credit. So, at least now they can’t say they weren’t informed.

Hi Kris, I really enjoy reading your blog. My husband and I will be visiting Panama in September 2016. We currently live in Hawaii. This is our first time visiting Panama and on a mission to explore possibilities of retiring in Panama. We have been looking forward to take this trip and we are intrigued by the lifestyle in Bouqute and David. We love to connect with you.

Hi Kris, Find your website interesting and informative but I admit I have been too busy to go over it in depth. I am a 71-year-old retired American with a younger wife from Latvia. We spent seven years in Nigeria and now 18 months in the U.K. We will be flying into David Monday evening 14 November (next week) and be staying for eight nights at Little Italy B&B a little outside David. My spanish in virtually non-existant so far and my wife speaks a little. Hoping to get to know the area and the people as much as practical. Interested in the local population far more than expats, but getting to know both would probably be good. Would like to meet you if we can. The hotel will be picking us up at the airport around 7pm and we expect see about renting a car Tuesday. What to you think? Thanks and shalom, Chuck

We haven’t lived in Costa Rica, so any info I wrote was as a tourist. It’s a beautiful country but of course, research well before making any important decisions.
