Volcán Barú

Volcán Barú is our active volcano and at over 11,000 feet, the highest spot in Panama. When it isn’t hidden by clouds it can be seen from many places in the area. One good spot is a field just down the road from our neighborhood. I thought it was looking especially beautiful when I passed by there yesterday.

I never get tired of seeing this impressive mountain! We’re so lucky to live in such a beautiful area.

The Scary Thing is that these Volcanos are becoming Active in various parts of the World. An Eruption in Mexico City would Kill Millions and Ecuador seems to be the New Hot Spot 😦

    • There has been some activity in Costa Rica recently too. They keep an eye on this one and so far there are no indications of activity and it hasn’t done anything for 400+ years, but if it starts we’ll probably be looking for another place to live. Word is only the highlands would be seriously affected but if I can see it, that feels a bit too close for comfort.
