Spider Pictures

You have been warned….  😀
There seem to be so many beautiful and interesting spiders around here that I’m always finding one I haven’t seen before.

The clothes pin picture made me chuckle.

What camera do you use? It is so hard to get a decent picture of such small (but incredibly interesting and useful) creatures. Looking at the pics I simply think of my early childhood and the many little creatures that I impacted (usually in a negative way) “hunting” and simply playing.

    • I have a Nikon D5000, and use a macro lens for bugs and little things. Mine is a AF-S Micro 85mm 1:3.5G. Don’t ask me exactly what that all means, It was recommended by a guy at a good camera shop in the US, and I’ve been very happy with it (though there was a frustrating learning curve at first until I figured out a good distance, how to focus, etc.) I still have some trouble with focus because if you get too close on a little bug, the head will be in focus and the tail will blur. I won’t admit how many photos I throw away to get just a few that I like, but I’m more and more fascinated with the little things.

No many interesting bugs in So CA where to use the Canon EOS and see what I can get, maybe in PTY…

        • Well that’s too bad. Maybe if you crawl around in the grass you’ll spot some, or if not, some tiny flowers here and there. Or, you’ll have to come back here and crawl around in my yard 😀
