Gee, sounds like Texas,Ar. NM, we had to check carefully when we were out there, always shake out your shoes, boots before putting them on, little buggers love to hide in them— could it be the odor that attracts them ?? LOL We always watch where we step here , especially after dark, snakes you know ! From near Baton Rouge LA.

Yep, I’ve heard to be careful of shoes too, and any out of the way places where you might get a surprise. We haven’t seen any snakes here except a couple dead ones in the road. But, we have lots of ants, and spiders, and a wide variety of interesting but harmless bugs.

OMG I cant imagine what was going thru your mind when u realized what in fact was crawling up your arm. The largest bugs here in Maine are the bumble bees :} Your experience reminds me of an Indiana Jones movie. .

LOL! Yep, for sure. Scorpions are in many parts of the US too, but I’m sure they don’t want to deal with your Maine winters.
