I’ve been playing with my macro lens the last couple days. It’s interesting that sometimes you see a detail in a photo that you didn’t see when you were taking the photos.
One of the big grasshoppers patiently sat for photos on my husband’s hand cart on the back patio.
This beautiful caterpillar has been on the underside of a ginger leaf for two days.
This tiny spider was in an empty box. I didn’t see the pointy parts or the color detail until I looked at the photos.
A sprig of grass flowers and seeds.
I was aiming for the flowers, but found the ant more interesting in the photo.
Another view of the caterpillar. It looks like it would be as soft as a pillow.
A papaya leaf
I didn’t realize this fly had a water droplet until I saw it in the photo.
This little green grasshopper was also very patient as a photo model.
I didn’t notice the grains of pollen in this little red flower until later.
A pretty seed head.
This cricket was not patient at all but I managed to snap two photos before it jumped away.

Good luck with the club! Maybe there are others who don’t feel like pros either, or if not, hopefully it’s at least helpful and interesting.

Thanks for sharing your photos, do not have a micro lense yet, I take senery photos with a Pentax K-7 and a 18X200 zoom lens— a compromise to keep from changing lens. R&E

Those are great. I have one like that too and it’s always on the camera. I broke down later and bought a macro lens before we left the US so I can stare bugs in the eye and things like that 😀 But, it certainly isn’t necessary.
