Waterfall Hostel

There is a new hostel a bit north of David on the northbound road towards Boquete. We stopped by the other day and Peter, the owner, gave us a nice tour. It’s in a really pretty spot by a river and waterfall.

First we looked at a few of the rooms. Peter has been working hard sprucing up the place and making any necessary repairs. There are a variety of options and sizes for rooms, and the prices are reasonable.

A basic room with two bunk beds, $15, a great value especially if you split it with someone.
This is one of the private rooms and it looks very comfortable.
There is a desk area and TV.
The bathroom is good, and there is piped in hot water (no suicide showers)
This is a family room with a double bed and two bunk beds. The dog kept an eye on us just because that’s his job.

The grounds are really nice. There is a lot of open, green space, and it feels relaxing. There is a restaurant on site, a social area with a pool table and other activities, and two swimming pools with a sitting area between them.

After looking at some rooms, we headed towards the restaurant area.
There is a lovely place to eat.
There is a pool table and some other fun activities.
We even got to check out the kitchen!
The pools are cleaned frequently. Today this one was getting the pressure washer treatment. Peter said one of the projects on his list is to tile the pools, so they will look even prettier in the future.
The other pool was full of water and ready to be enjoyed.
Looking back from the pools towards the restaurant you can see more green, open space.

The best part, I think, is the river and the waterfall. I had driven by this place and seen people swimming and playing in the river, but it’s even more beautiful from below.

This is also a great spot for a day trip or a party. It’s $1/day ($.50 for kids) and you can relax, use the pools, swim in the river, and there is the restaurant on site for drinks and food if needed.

One of these warm days I need to go enjoy this spot for a few hours!

    Thanks for sharing Kris. Nice looking place. Another option for me to consider, besides the Bambu hostel for my trip back to Panama this winter.

      We stayed at Bambu our first time here and had a great time. Then, we stayed at Chambres en Ville, another good one but if you want to get out of town a bit in a beautiful spot, Waterfall Hostel is definitely a great place!

    Looks promising. AC in the rooms and is transportation from David available without self driving? Wonderful photos as usual.

    There is AC in some of the rooms. You could get a bus or taxi up there. It’s the main road to Boquete so quite a few buses pass by. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the photos.
