Weekly Photo Challenge: Extra

Weekly Photo Challenge: Extra  This week, share a photo that has a little something extra: an unexpected visitor, or a tranquil landscape with a splash of color. A lone carrot in a sea of peas. Draw us in with a humorous detail, or find a photo with an added element that makes it an image only you could capture.

A side street, the new commercial building under construction, and a calf grazing by the side of the road.

An interesting wall with some pretty yellow flowers, and a baby iguana.

This would have been better if I have photographed the street and the tarantula was just in the photo, but a tarantula in the street is something "extra" in my mind! It's the first one I've seen in the wild.

The tarantula was not at all aggressive and they are not especially dangerous. They are big enough to look quite impressive though! The hand belongs to my husband and the tarantula made no attempt to bite him so don’t worry, all is well.

    • Yes indeed. Especially in the tropics there is always some bug or critter or bird peeking out from somewhere. I think as an artist you are more likely to notice the extra things because they make life so interesting.

You are brave! But I don’t think it’s your arm, so the arm’s owner is the brave one.

    • This one just walked along and what appeared to be a normal speed. I suppose he could have picked up the pace but he didn’t seem to be in a hurry.
My pleasure about the pingback. You take beautiful photos, and have wonderful flowers too.

  8. Awesome blog! Do youu have any tips for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
    Anny ideas? Thank you!

    • Thanks, and no. I’m not a writer really, just someone telling my own story. I would go with a free platform to start. If you find you need something more you can always upgrade. I think people are most interested in content though, so write about what you love and don’t worry as much about the technical details.
