For this challenge, some pics my husband and I took a couple weeks ago immediately came to mind. My neighbor showed us how to get to the river behind our neighborhood. You go down these 200 steps…
If I understood my neighbor correctly, an American lived in the area for quite a few years. He loved the river so much that he build these stairs to make it easier for everyone to get down there.
and after the stairs, the path
After the path are a few more steps. While you are sitting on the bottom steps, this is what you see.
If you look to the north, it’s equally beautiful
We are so lucky to have these stairs just a couple blocks from our house, to have this river right behind us, and to have a great neighbor and friend to show us the way.

Beautiful scenery, Kris! Great shots. Love the one sitting by the river.

Thanks, and I enjoyed playing along. Sometimes you just need a theme, an idea to get you going.

Would you want to share the location of these stairs? My husband and I have been looking for a nice place to walk in David. We are staying in a condo close to the cemetery and the Romero’s there for a few months.
Thanks,
Carol

We’re in Villa Del Carmen, 5 min north of El Rey. I’m not sure if you could find the stairs without someone pointing them out since the start isn’t clearly visible from the street. The whole area north of El Rey and El Terronal is lovely though, beautiful homes, quiet streets, and wonderful trees and flowers. We ride our bikes in this area all the time. If you want to come up here sometime, I’d be happy to show you the stairs and go walking. You can reach me at gmail – MsKris941
